Every day I read the news on line and read the comments, and every day I get disgusted by the sheer nastiness that comes across.

I haven't been around for a while, I guess being retired makes you lazy.
By now I'm interested in trying to make a small library management app.
I use Calibre and it is by far the best. The only problem I have is my
kindle, nook and kobo books. It is difficult to get them all in one app with my regular epubs.
So I figured I look around for some other catalog, but there is none that works like Calibre, so I try something on my own, it probably will be forgotten in a couple of weeks but in between it keeps me busy.

We have come a long way

I'll show you my development setup at home it's a far cry from the IBM model 30 that started it, or maybe it was the TI 99/4. Anyway on the picture you see my main computer running Xubuntu 11.04 and the Acer aspire One that started with WinXP but now runs Wary Puppy and Android 2.3 .
The main computer has two screens one with the Geany IDE the other showing the emulator.
You can access both android systems bacause the Acer has a wireless connection. So I can run my android code whichever way I want.
Yesterday I said I used gradle and that was so, but today it acted up so I reverted to running ant works well from the Geany terminal. Now I just need to get AePub working so I can read some books

Finally decided on Android IDE Geany and Gradle

I tried eclipse netbeans ideaJ and they all do nice things every now and then but they crash and take up lots of resources.
I finally kept coming back to Geany and now Gradle. I can edit all in Geany and do the building in the console. Then install to my wireless connected android and run it. Just about perfect.

Android 2.3.4 on Acer Aspire One

Here are some screen-shots of Android 2.3.4 running on my Acer. Instead of the standard home screen I used the sample app Home which makes for a nice home screen, once I figure out how to get the wallpaper to behave.
They all use DPI=120 in the boot line.
above the standard start screen, after unlocking it goes to the home screen:
Below some pictures of apps:

I'm still working on the Home app in order to make it look better.

Well now

I really got to put some thoughts together, so I can fill some space!
